Purpose of the connector

Google Manufacturer Center allows the manufacturer or distributor to provide Google with the information that the portal considers most valid due to its source. However, this does not mean that Google will rigorously or immediately take into account the information received and give it full priority over other channels. Its algorithm gives it significant weight, but how much of that information is taken into account and when it is reflected in Google Shopping depends exclusively on Google's criteria.


With the aim of defining the difference between the two, we could compare them to Amazon Seller and Amazon Vendor, where Google Manufacturer is the Amazon Vendor whereas Google Shopping/Merchant is the Amazon Seller.

The Sales Layer connector for Google Manufacturer generates an XML file with filtered product information with the usual Sales Layer connector functionality.


This feature is only available to product manufacturers who have created a Google Manufacturer account for providing product information to Google.


This direct communication means that:


  • Google takes into account the manufacturer's information and gives it importance when displaying content on Google Shopping.
  • Any of the sellers of the products on Google Shopping benefit from higher quality product information, provided by the manufacturer.
  • That by providing more quality information, the product is positioned better and the conversion rate in terms of sales is higher.


How to integrate a PIM strategy:
